Modern Apprenticeship in Plant Operations & Driving Goods Vehicles

Structure of the Qualification
The SCQF Level 5 Plant Operations (Construction) – Group Award GM7D 22 and SVQ Driving Goods Vehicles (DGV Level 3) – Group Award GP8Y 23 is government funded by Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Modern Apprenticeship (MA) and is designed for candidates who do not hold a formal qualification in their chosen profession. They are available to anyone aged over 16 for Plant Equipment and over the age of 18 for LGVNans and currently in paid employment.

Ritchies Training Modern Apprenticeships
Overview
The qualification provides individuals with a qualification demonstrating they have the skills, knowledge and abilities to carry out the role of Construction Plant Operation & Driving Operator to a professional standard. Training and assessment can be carried out in the workplace which minimises any time that learners would need to be away from their work. However, if required, training and assessment can be carried out at Ritchies Training Centre.

THIS CAN BE SOL EL V SVQ BASED FOR CURRENT OPERATORS OR BASIC TRAINING & SVQ FOR NON-OPERATORS.

Tackling Scotland’s skills gap
Modern Apprenticeships (MA’s) help employers to develop their staff through training and upskilling. For individuals, an MA lets them earn a wage and gain an industry-recognised qualification.

Each year, over 27,000 people start a Modern Apprenticeship – combining a qualification with onthe-job experience. This lets people work, learn and earn at the same time. We contribute towards the costs of their training, through a training provider who works with the business.

Core skills are the five skills identified by employers as the skills most likely to be needed in any work environment. This does not mean that every job will need people who are proficient in all five core skills, but it does mean that every job will require some level of ability in some or all these skills.
