Training for the future

Scotsim LGV Simulator
Working in partnership with TRL (Transport Research Laboratory) on behalf of Scottish Executive, Phase 1 of this programme is now coming to an end.

Scotsim uses two full mission simulators in fixed and mobile configurations to investigate, demonstrate and evaluate the application and benefits of using simulators to train truck drivers in the principles of efficient and effective driving.

This phase of the Scotsim programme provided some 600 Scottish truck drivers and their companies with the opportunity to benefit from the simulators and their associated training modules. The programme commenced in  August 2005 and ran through to April 2006. Participants in the project will be pioneering individuals and organisations testing the technological solutions aimed at delivering one of the future solutions for truck driver training.
